Wrapping refers specifically to enclosing or securing items using materials like stretch film to stabilize loads for transport or storage, while packaging is the broader process of designing, protecting, and containing products—including boxes, cushioning, and labeling—for handling, shipping, and retail presentation throughout the supply chain.

Proper wrapping involves securing the load to the pallet base, applying stretch film in overlapping layers from bottom to top with consistent tension, and reinforcing corners and edges. Using pre-stretched or machine film improves consistency, while hand film works well for smaller or irregular loads requiring manual control.

Hand stretch film is designed for manual application using a handheld dispenser, typically in 60-80 gauge thicknesses for lower-volume wrapping. Machine stretch film, like our 63-gauge LLDPE roll, is engineered for use with pallet wrapping machines, offering consistent tension and higher throughput for high-volume warehouse operations.

Machine selection depends on pallet volume and load type. Semi-automatic pallet wrappers suit moderate throughput operations needing operator oversight, while fully automatic strapping and wrapping machines handle high-volume warehouses. Compatible roll sizes of 15-20 inches and standard pallet dimensions accommodate most industrial and distribution setups.

Our Bio Stretch Wrap is manufactured from biodegradable LLDPE at 20in x 5000ft, engineered to deliver comparable load-holding and puncture resistance to standard clear LLDPE film.
